North Queensland netball fans are in for a historic treat, as the Lorna Jane Queensland Firebirds embark on their first regional roadshow tour this weekend.
Star players Laura Clemesha, Caitlyn Nevins and Mahalia Cassidy will all fly north to meet and interact with fans from local associations in Cairns, Townsville and Mackay.
At each location, the players will hold a free on-court skills clinic followed by a photo and autograph signing session.
Suncorp #TeamGirls Ambassador, and former Firebirds and Diamonds defender – Clare McMeniman will also be in attendance in Cairns and Townsville to deliver a special #TeamGirls presentation at the clinics.
Suncorp has joined forces with both Netball Australia and Netball Queensland to promote the benefits of netball participation through their #TeamGirls initiative.
#TeamGirls is a national initiative that sets out to build confidence and self-esteem in young girls by championing supportive behaviour and values.
It is designed to encourage girls to build confidence and success together, peer to peer, girls supporting girls – just like on the netball court.
Through #Teamgirls, Suncorp is aiming to kickstart the conversation around the pressures facing young girls today and equip parents with the resources and knowledge to raise confident young women.
With Clare as #TeamGirls ambassador, plus Laura, Caitlyn and Mahalia conducting clinics – this message will be on full display throughout the entire Firebirds regional roadshow.
