Position Description
The Queensland Firebirds are looking for enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated members of our purple community to be a part of the Ball Crew for the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball season
About the role
Ball Crew assist with the maintenance of the Field of Play throughout the game. They are responsible for rapidly collecting the ball when it goes off court, fixing court signange and wiping the floor when directed by the umpires.
Applicant Requirements:
- Aged between 14 - 17 years of age - parent permission required
- No Ball Crew members are to approach, request a signature or selfie/photo from the players. Any member of the Ball Crew found to be doing so will be relieved of their duties for the remaining SSN season.
Availability
Due to COVID-19, current volunteer positions are currently on hold.
Report Relationships
Reports to the Ball Crew Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Match
- Arrive at venue one (1) hour before the start of the game
- Sign in and collect accreditation from Ball Crew Supervisor
- Listen to the Ball Crew Supervisor briefing about the role for the day
During Match
- Stay within the field of play area and out of camera arc
- Quickly collect match bal if it goes out of court
- Fix court signage if knocked over during the match
- Wipe down the court if directed by the umpire
- Always wear a big smile on your face
Post Match
- Return accreditation to the Ball Crew Supervisor
