The Queensland Firebirds are excited to announce the Club’s new Principal Partner, with the sponsorship bringing together two proud brands with a rich history in Queensland.
Australia’s largest rail freight operator and top 100 ASX company, Aurizon, join the triple premiership winning Firebirds on a three-year partnership commencing on the eve of the 2021 Suncorp Super Netball season.
Queensland Firebirds CEO, Catherine Clark, said it was a landmark day for the Club.
“To welcome a brand as committed, reliable and synonymous with Queensland as Aurizon into our Purple family is an incredibly proud moment for the Queensland Firebirds,” Clark said.
“A synergy of values is critical to our partnerships. Aurizon’s integrity, pursuit of excellence and enduring people first culture truly resonates with what we have built, and continue to build, here at the Firebirds.”
“For 25 years we have been Queensland’s Club, and we play for all of Queensland. Aurizon’s presence in regional Queensland via their broad footprint in centres across the State speaks volumes of the alignment between our two brands.”
“We share a passion for Queensland and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Together through this alliance we are poised to achieve some great things over the next three years.”
Aurizon transports more than 250 million tonnes of Australian commodities annually, connecting Australian industry with international and domestic markets.
Aurizon’s Managing Director & CEO Andrew Harding said Aurizon was delighted to partner with the Queensland Firebirds, a high-performance team competing in the world’s best netball league.
“Aurizon is proud to announce our three-year partnership in Queensland with the Firebirds,” Harding said.

“Aurizon is committed to building a more inclusive, diverse team across our national operations and having a pipeline of young women leaders to support our future success. We see great alignment with the Firebirds in their championing of success and excellence in sport, with an ever growing participation of young women in netball.
“With more than 80% of Aurizon’s employees living and working in regional communities, we are also delighted that the Firebirds have a commitment to regional Queensland with community engagement across the state.”
As Principal Partner, Aurizon will feature in the most prominent position across all Queensland Firebirds apparel, support the Firebirds travelling on regional tours as well as having a significant presence on game day at the Firebirds’ fortress, and the home of netball in Queensland, Nissan Arena.
