Donnell Wallam
Goal Shooter
There was no questioning the talent of Donnell Wallam or the fact she deserved a chance to play SSN, but not many could have expected such a dream start to her career.
Wallam, a Western Australian, was invited to train with the Firebirds in January as a potential replacement for vetern goal shooter Romelda Aiken-George due to pregnancy.
Taking this opportunity with both hands, Wallam fully committed to training and before long had signed a contract to join the Firebirds for the 2022 season.
In her opening two matches the talented goaler is shooting at 89 per cent accuracy for her 92 goals and hitting more than half her Super Shot attempts with 6.
Adding further excitement and interest to her joining the Firebirds is the fact she is just the second First Nations player in the entire competition.
If her first two games are anything to go by, Wallam has a bright future with the Firebirds.
