Lara Dunkley

Hailing from a sports-mad family which includes two brothers who are both AFL footballers, Dunkley has made herself a key part of the Firebirds following her arrival in 2020 as a replacement player from the Vixens.

An intense competitor, Dunkley uses her physical strength and height in the midcourt but is also a huge part of the team's culture as a leader, having club vice-captain for the past two seasons.

Dunkley, who hails from Yarram in country Victoria, also has a big heart and embraces all players and staff as part of the Purple Family. Recorded a club-high 206 goal assists as well as club-leading tallies for feeds (355) and centre pass receives (250) in 2023, a season where she also passed the 50-game milestone for National League appearances.
