Lara Dunkley

Hailing from a sports-mad family which includes two brothers who are both AFL footballers, Dunkley has made herself a key part of the Firebirds following her arrival in 2020 as a replacement player from the Vixens. 

An intense competitor, Dunkley uses her physical strength and height in the midcourt but is also a huge part of the team's culture as a leader, having been club vice-captain for the past three seasons.

Dunkley, who hails from Yarram in country Victoria, also has a big heart and embraces all players and staff as part of the Purple Family. Recorded a club-high 217 goal assists as well as club-leading tallies for feeds (398) and centre pass receives (213) in 2024, a season where she led the team on court multiple times when club captain Kim Ravaillion was injured.
