After a agonising one-goal loss to the Capital Darters in the Futures' opener for the finals weekend, the team bounced back to end their season with convincing victories over the Territory Storm on Saturday and Tasmania Wild on Sunday.
The weekend action began for the Futures against the Darters after the ACT-based team secured the top seeding from their play-in tournament against the Wild and Storm.
In a see-sawing contest, it was Futures squad member Nalani Makunde, representing the Darters, who scored the winning goal right on the siren to condemn the Futures to a 60-59 defeat.
That disappointment was quickly erased on Saturday when they Storm were brushed aside in a convincing 70-30 win for the Futures with young shooter Simone Botha landing 36 points including one Super Goal while teenage defender Ruby Stanford made her Futures debut.
The Futures then wrapped up their season with a 71-33 win over the Wild on Sunday in a commanding display where the team lead from start to finish.
