The quartet, all members of the Queensland Firebirds Futures Academy, are Elsa Sif Sandholt, Sasha Flegler, Jessie Laga’aia and Lillyana Rennie.
Sandholt, who debuted for the Firebirds in the final game of the 2025 SSN season against the NSW Swifts, Flegler and Rennie were all training partners last season while Laga’aia featured for the Firebirds at the pre-season Suncorp Team Girls Cup and was part of the matchday 10 for the First Nations Round clash against the Melbourne Vixens in May without getting on the court.
Laga’aia is also Samoa international while Sandholt, Flegler and Rennie were all named in the 2025 Australian 21 and Under Squad in July.
Firebirds Head Coach Kiri Wills said all four athletes earned their selections after consistent performances in both Super Netball Reserves and the HART Premier Netball League Sapphire Division.
“Elsa Sif has made some big shifts on and off the court and we have only just scratched the surface of her potential,” Wills said.
“Sasha showed her growth over the year both physically and mentally in a dominant midcourt performance that earned her the HPNL Grand Final MVP award as well as performing across the 19 and Unders to Reserves.
“Lillyana was great week after week in Super Netball Reserves and shone during the HPNL for the Cougars while her clubmate Jessie has shown throughout the entire year she is capable of playing at the top level.
“This is a great cohort of outstanding up and coming talent and I know they will add plenty to our squad for the upcoming season.”
All four athletes add to the Firebirds training environment as well as providing coverage if required, and can be named as replacement players if necessary.
