The Futures secured their top four finish with a four win, three loss season, capped by a 33-goal demolition of the Sunshine Coast Lightning Bolts two weeks ago at Nissan Arena.
That result was enough for the Futures to finish third on the competition ladder, qualifying them for the third-place playoff at the inaugural Super Netball Reserves finals in Melbourne this weekend.
Their opponents in the playoff will be the QBE Swifts Academy, who were one of three teams to finish on 16 points with the Adelaide Thunderbirds Futures coming fifth on percentage.
The Futures faced the Swifts at Nissan Arena last month, winning a thrilling clash by just one point despite the Swifts storming home in the final quarter with Elsa Sif Sandholt nailing the winning goal with less than 20 seconds to go.
"I’m very proud of the team’s consistency and build across our season with a young and exciting side," Firebirds Futures Head Coach Jess Whitfort said.
"With many of our athletes coming off the back of a successful underage nationals competition they have stood up to challenge of the rigours of the elite but demanding format of SN reserves and earned a deserved spot in the third place playoff claiming some great wins throughout the season."
Saturday's playoff is part of an inaugural finals series to finish the second season of the Super Netball Reserves competition with the undefeated West Coast Fever facing the Melbourne Mavericks in Sunday's final.
The third-place playoff begins at 3.30pm from the Waverley Netball Centre.
