The squad showcases the best of the state’s up-and-coming netball talent, headlined by Queensland Firebirds training partners Jessie Laga'aia, Sasha Flegler and Lillyana Rennie, alongside recently named Firebirds 11th player Elsa Sif Sandholt. The Icelandic-born shooter will be aiming to build on a strong 2025 Futures campaign which ended with the 21-year-old making her Suncorp Super Netball debut in the Firebirds final match of the 2025 campaign.
Adding further depth is another player with SSN experience in midcourter Maddi Ridley, following her recovery from an ACL injury sustained last year.
Queensland Firebirds assistant coach Paula Stuart will lead the Futures program, reinforcing the critical alignment between the development pathway and elite netball with Queensland Firebird No.21 Tracey Bruce serving as team manager.
"The Firebirds Futures program is as closely aligned with the Queensland Firebirds as possible to ensure consistency across coaching, strategy and culture for all athletes," Stuart said.
"This alignment creates a clear pathway for athletes, allowing players to transition seamlessly between the Futures and the Firebirds. The coaching staff work collaboratively to implement consistent technical and tactical strategies, ensuring players are exposed to the same game principles, expectations and performance standards as the Firebirds.
“We are excited to watch these players perform in the high standard of games that will be showcased across the SN Reserves competition."
