After back-to-back wins last weekend over ladder leaders QBE Swifts Academy and Vixens Academy, the Firebirds Futures head into their penultimate game with a 3-2 record from five matches.
Despite having played two games more than their opponents this Sunday, the Futures sit behind the Fever Reserves on the ladder with the West Australians having won all three of their matches so far.
The Firebirds Futures are fifth on the ladder but can leap into the top four with a victory with fourth-placed Adelaide and the table-topping Swifts both having byes this weekend.
Head Coach Jess Whitfort will be hoping attacking duo Elsa Sif Sandholt and Kirra Tappenden can again combine to keep the scoreboard ticking over while Jess Laga'aia will be eager to continue her good midcourt form after being an unused substitute for the Queensland Firebirds in last Sunday's Suncorp Super Netball clash with the Melbourne Vixens at Nissan Arena.
At the back, Danielle Taylor has been in fine form throughout the Super Netball Reserves to put her on the radar of Firebirds Head Coach Kiri Wills as a replacement option going forward while Firebirds training partners Lillyana Rennie and Lily Gribble have been standouts in defence as well.
Sunday's match at Gold Netball Centre starts at 5.30pm (7.30pm AEST).
