Firmly established in the Firebirds midcourt, Gardner is a proud Queensland pathways product who has grown into one of the competition's most respected engine-room players.
Firebird No.98 has built her reputation on relentless work rate, intense competitiveness and a genuine love for the club.
The 2024 Laura Geitz Medallist took a significant step forward in her leadership journey when she was included in a formal leadership role as vice-captain ahead of the 2026 season, joining fellow vice-captain Lara Dunkley and captain Ruby Bakewell-Doran at the helm of the playing group for that campaign.
The 26-year-old’s growth as one of the league's leading midcourters was further recognised when she was named a training partner by national selectors for the 2026/27 Australian Diamonds squad, underlining her rise onto the international radar.
A mid-season calf injury disrupted Gardner's 2026 campaign, but she still featured in 10 matches for the Firebirds across the season, taking her overall tally to 61 Super Netball appearances for the club.
"I'm super thrilled to be back with the Firebirds for another two seasons," Gardner said.
"We have had so much growth as a team over the last couple of seasons and I believe we have so much untapped potential still to unlock. I can't wait to see what we bring to the competition.

Firebirds Head Coach Kiri Wills said Gardner's continued commitment to the club was a significant boost heading into 2027.
“Macy is a phenomenal talent and an incredibly driven athlete who sets the tone for our team,” Wills said.
“The way she stepped into the vice-captaincy and handled it with such maturity, even while working through a frustrating injury, speaks volumes about her character.
“Her selection as a Diamonds training partner is thoroughly deserved recognition for the hard work she puts in every single day, and we're absolutely thrilled to have her locked in for another season in Purple.”
