The Firebirds host the in-form Thunderbirds at Nissan Arena desperate to snap a five-game losing streak.
Adelaide come to Queensland sitting third on the ladder after last weekend's home win over the NSW Swifts.
LAST TIME WE MET
The Firebirds fell to an agonising one-point defeat after a sensational display against the Thunderbirds in Adelaide in Round 1.
In what was captain Kim Ravaillion's 150th National League appearance, the Thunderbirds held on to secure a 63-62 win as Donnell Wallam's two Super Shot attempts in the dying seconds just failed to hit the net.
Wallam scored 39 points including four Super Shots, while Tippah Dwan hit five two-pointers as she shot 18 goals from 20 attempts against her former club.
Goalkeeper Remi Kamo was just as impressive at the defensive end, with five gains and six deflections in a titanic tussle with former Firebirds legend Romelda Aiken-George.
TEAM NEWS
Ravaillion has been ruled out of Sunday's game due to a lower leg issue.
As a result, Ravaillion will be replaced in the Game Day squad by Firebirds Futures talent Jess Milne.
“At this stage Kim will work with the medical team to complete a graded return to play,” Firebirds Head Coach Bec Bulley said.
“She’ll be assessed next week to determine her ongoing availability but the most important thing now is that she gets right as soon as possible."
Young defender Isabelle Shearer has also been ruled out of Sunday’s game due to a quad issue, with 11th Player Ali Miller coming into the matchday 10.
"The team we've selected has the ability to play multiple positions across the court, giving us the versatility to cover several options," Bulley said.
Both Milne and Miller will make their SSN debuts should they take to the court.
The Thunderbirds head north with an unchanged line-up from their win over the Swifts.
KEY MATCHUP - Tippah Dwan v Shameera Sterling-Humphrey
The 2023 premiership teammates are no strangers to each other's game making this clash between attack and defence particularly engaging.
Sterling-Humphrey's has been at her defensive best this season for the Thunderbirds and was the player of the match when these two teams met in Round 1, picking up 10 gains, six intercepts and eight deflections in an eye-catching display.
If Dwan can help the Firebirds get past Sterling-Humphrey it'll be a crucial step to overcoming the premiers.
KEY STAT
The Firebirds have lost their past four SSN matches against the Thunderbirds, with their last victory being a 60-50 triumph back in April 2022.
LAST WORD
"It's just about sticking together and going through the lulls together. We know that when we play our best netball we can win so we've got to bring that on the weekend." - Firebirds midcourter Macy Gardner.
