Firebird No.121, the 34-year-old was an ever-present figure in the Firebirds' shooting circle throughout 2026, netting 185 goals and adding 28 Super Shots to her tally.
Her consistent, high-quality performances saw her poll 32 votes in the Laura Geitz Medal count, finishing a highly creditable third behind fellow New Zealand internationals Kelly Jackson and Maddy Gordon.
A genuinely world-class operator, Selby-Rickit brings a wealth of international experience to the Purple Family.
Since making her Silver Ferns debut back in 2016, she has amassed 66 international caps, represented her country at two Commonwealth Games (2018 and 2022) and was a proud member of New Zealand's 2019 Netball World Cup-winning squad.
Confident and adaptable across both shooting positions, Selby-Rickit combines sharp accuracy under the post with creative, composed playmaking, giving the Firebirds a genuine point of difference in attack and a difficult matchup for opposition defences.
"I'm so happy to be back for another year with this club and this group," Selby-Rickit said.
"So excited for what's ahead in 2027.
"I absolutely loved my first year with the club and can't wait to see what we can do as a group next year."
Firebirds Head Coach Kiri Wills said retaining Selby-Rickit's class and international pedigree was a significant boost for the club's attacking group heading into 2027.
“Te Paea brought exactly what we hoped for in her first season with us - composure, accuracy and a real calming influence in our shooting circle,” Wills said.
“Her ability to play both shooting roles, create opportunities for those around her and then step up and nail the big shots herself gives us so much flexibility in attack.
“She's also been a fantastic teammate who has settled into our environment seamlessly, and we're thrilled to have her back in Purple for another season.”
