The Queensland Firebirds are proud to unveil a special commemorative logo ahead of the 2021 Suncorp Super Netball season, as the Club prepares to celebrate its 25th season.
Founded in 1997, the three-time Premiers will celebrate their Silver Jubilee this year with a history spanning the Commonwealth Bank Trophy, ANZ Championship and Suncorp Super Netball eras of the National league.
Firebirds CEO Catherine Clark believes the milestone presents an important platform to celebrate the foundation upon which the Club has built a culture of sustained success.
“Our 25th anniversary represents an amazing opportunity to recognise the contribution of those who shaped the Club, as well as our current athletes and even the next generation that are set to take us to even greater heights,” Clark said.
“More than 100 players have worn the Purple dress since our inception and, together with the coaches, managers, administrators, volunteers and members numbering in the thousands, each and every person has left their mark.”
“Acknowledging the invaluable role our Purple Family has played in our ongoing success will be central to our celebrations and, given chances like this to be a part of history don’t come along too often, we truly hope everyone who has called the Club home across those 25 years joins us on this journey.”
The commemorative logo will feature prominently throughout the 2021 season, including on the new Firebirds playing dress, set to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
The Firebirds’ 25 year celebrations will also continue across the season, with a number of initiatives to be delivered throughout the year highlighting all elements of the Club’s rich history, culminating in a dedicated Heritage Round home game.
