Trailing by six points after the Giants went on a Suncorp Super Shot blitz in the first half, the Firebirds would not be denied in front of 3151 fans as they surged to a 71-64 victory.
New Zealand duo Te Paea Selby-Rickit and Kelly Jackson were superb at either end of the court with Selby-Rickit scoring 22 points including four Suncorp Super Shots.
In defence Jackson had five gains, seven deflections and three pickups while Ruby Bakewell-Doran also stood up in defence with six gains, seven deflections and two rebounds.
Mary Cholhok top-scored for the Firebirds with 34 goals while Elsa Sif Sandholt delivered another cameo from the bench, hitting 14 of 14 shots including one Suncorp Super Shot.
There was also a return to court for Macy Gardner after a four-week absence with a calf injury to cap a big night for the Firebirds, who celebrated Pride in style with a distinctive Pride Dress for the first time in the club's history.
The winless Giants snatched a halftime lead on the back of nine two-point shots including six alone by Matisse Letherbarrow.
Desperate to secure a win to keep any hopes of a top four finish alive, the Firebirds began clawing their way back into the contest in the third quarter, winning it 18-13 to be trailing by just one goal going into the final term.
From there, the hosts were just too good, outscoring the Giants 20-12 as they surged to a third win of the season to set up next weekend's First Nations Round clash against West Coast Fever.
The Round 11 match-up will be held on Sunday at Nissan Arena with tickets still available from Ticketek.
