The 28-year-old arrives in Brisbane fresh from claiming gold at the 2026 Commonwealth Games with her Silver Ferns teammates in Glasgow, adding a genuine international winner and one of the most dynamic midcourt operators in the Southern Hemisphere to the Purple Family.
A gifted athlete with speed to burn, precision passing and a healthy dose of attacking flair, she is capable across both midcourt attacking positions, most devastating from centre but equally effective at wing attack, while also proving a relentless spoiler on defence.
Silver Fern No.174, Poi made her international debut against England in January 2019 and has since amassed 32 Test caps, representing New Zealand at every level along the way.
Her honour roll includes a 2017 World Youth Cup title with the NZ Under-21 team, the Ferns' 2018 FAST5 Netball World Series triumph and Constellation Cup victories with the Silver Ferns in both 2021 and 2024.
Poi's leadership credentials are equally impressive on the domestic front.
Having played over 100 national league matches, she has captained both the Mainland Tactix and, most recently, the Southern Steel, growing into one of New Zealand netball's most respected leaders.
She also brings a taste of Australian competition to the table, having previously featured as a replacement player for the Collingwood Magpies during the 2019 Suncorp Super Netball season.
“Being able to play in the best competition in the world is a real privilege, and it’s something I’m incredibly excited about,” Poi said.

Firebirds Head Coach Kiri Wills said Poi's signing added exciting speed, experience and leadership to the club's midcourt group.
“Kimiora is a genuine game-changer through the middle of the court,” Wills said.
“She brings unbelievable speed, fitness and creativity in attack, and at the same time she's relentless defensively.
