With new faces on and off the court, this season promises to be a turning point for the team.
Leading the charge are two exciting international recruits – towering Ugandan star shooter Mary Cholhok and English midcourt dynamo Imogen Allison.
Cholhok’s proven scoring prowess, combined with Allison’s physicality, grit and leadership, bring a perfect blend of strength and flair to the Firebirds' line-up.
The duo’s arrival signals a fresh chapter in the club’s history, complementing a core group of rising Queensland talent – headlined by fellow recruit Ash Barnett.
The young defender is preparing for her first full season at SSN level but will be joined in pre-season training by several familiar faces with the Firebirds adding seven Netball Queensland pathway products as training partners in 2025.
Guiding the team through this new era is Head Coach Kiri Wills, who has wasted no time instilling a winning culture.
Working alongside assistant coach Paula Stuart, Wills has got straight to fostering a positive, high-performance environment with elite standards and expectations.
“I’m thrilled to be getting down to business with such a committed and talented group,” Wills said.
“The squad we’ve assembled is dynamic and I’m confident we have the right mix of experience and youth to challenge the competition.”
The buzz around the Firebirds' camp is palpable, with players and staff alike sharing a sense of excitement about what lies ahead.
The pre-season is already shaping up to be full of hard work and ambition, with one clear goal: bringing the Firebirds back to the top of SSN.
