Firebirds Head Coach Kiri Wills paid tribute to the departing trio and expressed her gratitude for their efforts.
“I’d like to thank Hulita, Ashlee and Tippah for the contribution they’ve made to our club,” Wills said.
“They’ve all shown great commitment, professionalism and a fantastic attitude throughout their time with us.
“We wish them all the best in their next steps, both on and off the court.”
Part of the Firebirds' ANZ Premiership win in 2016 under her maiden name Hulita Haukinima, 29-year-old Veve made a successful return to the Firebirds full-time contracted list in 2024 to claim the Players' Player and Members' Player of the Year awards at the end of that year.
The mother-of-two was named Firebirds co-captain alongside Ruby Bakewell-Doran ahead of the 2025 season and made 11 appearances before an ACL injury ended her season.
In total Veve, Firebird No.85, made 32 appearances for the club.
Dwan, a Queensland pathways product who captained the state at 19 and Under level, was a member of the Firebirds squad in 2020 and 2021 before moving to Adelaide for two seasons where she was part of the Thunderbirds’ 2023 premiership win.
Rejoining the Firebirds in 2024, Dwan was an ever-present that season and has made 70 SSN appearances in her career to date including 42 games for the Firebirds but injury restricted her to just four appearances in 2025.
The Firebirds will be providing support to both Veve and Dwan during their rehabilitation programs.
Barnett became Firebird No.116 when she debuted in this year’s opening round win over GIANTS Netball at Ken Rosewall Arena.
The 22-year-old would go on to feature in 11 matches this season including a star turn in the season finale against the NSW Swifts when she came off the bench to secure four gains and two intercepts in an eye-catching display against New Zealand star shooter Grace Nweke.
The Firebirds will make further announcements on other off-contract athletes as well as new signings once decisions have been finalised.
