Joining the coaching staff ahead of the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball season, Stuart brought with her a wealth of coaching experience and a deep, long-standing knowledge of Queensland netball, credentials that made an immediate and lasting impact on the Firebirds environment.
Across her two seasons at the club, she also became a driving force behind helping build an environment defined by trust, connection and accountability.
That impact was felt throughout every corner of the program, from the playing group through to staff and the wider netball community, with Stuart's warmth, professionalism and willingness to support anyone who needed it becoming a hallmark of her time at the club.
Firebirds Head Coach Kiri Wills reflected on the significance of Stuart's contribution.
"Paula has been a huge part of the culture shift within the Firebirds," Wills said.
"She lives the values of the club and has established trusting relationships with the playing group, the Firebirds staff and the wider Netball Queensland community.
“She is a real team player who will do anything for anyone."
Stuart’s coaching journey will continue as she heads to Tonga in September as Samoa’s assistant coach for World Cup 2027 qualifiers.
“Dreams do come true,” Stuart said.
“What an honour it has been to wear the purple shirt with pride. An experience I will forever cherish.”
