Miller became Firebird No.112 when she came onto the court in the third quarter of last weekend's SSN clash with GIANTS Netball at Ken Rosewall Arena.
While the Firebirds suffered a four-point loss, the achievement of getting on court in an SSN match for the 27-year-old wasn't diminished by the result.
After having failed to make an SSN appearance during her time in the NSW Swifts program and then taking time away from the game while pregnant with son Talanoa, Miller took a chance on finally realising her dream with a move to Queensland last year as a training partner.
Adjusting to life as a single mother in a new city, Miller was named as the Firebirds eleventh player for the 2024 season in April, having to bide her time across several weeks before finally getting onto the court in last weekend's Round Nine match.
"It's extremely rewarding," Miller said.
"I've always had mum and dad show me that anything is possible and that's something I really want to pass onto Talanoa, no matter the challenges, circumstances, what you have to do, what you have to change, you can always make your dream come true if you're ready to work hard.
"I'm extremely lucky I've got incredible support networks no matter where I am. My mum has given up multiple weekends to come up here and help me look after Talanoa so I can keep making this dream come true.
"I think that debut was for more than just me - it was for my parents, my brother and sister, extended family, Talanoa - extremely special."
In nine minutes on court and with her father, son and nephew watching from the stands, Miller shot four goals from four attempts.
Having had a taste of SSN action, Miller says her next ambition is to improve and add to her Firebirds appearances.
"It was awesome to get that touch and taste," she said.
"You can always do better so I'm taking the positive of getting my number and now that's done I know what I need to do.
"I need to be stronger, more dominant and turn and shoot and I'm ready to bring that going forward."
