Lured from Sydney by Head Coach Bec Bulley on a short-term deal during the 2023 pre-season, Moore was signed as a replacement player to fill the vacancy on the Firebirds’ contracted player list due to Gretel Bueta’s pregnancy.
Moore became Firebird No.107 in the opening match of the 2023 season against Adelaide Thunderbirds, coming off the bench in the third quarter and scoring her first SSN goal shortly afterwards.
The 26-year-old would force her way into Bulley’s starting seven during the campaign, scoring 75 goals in her 13 appearances including 12 Suncorp Super Shots.
Moore’s on-court intelligence and movement ensured she developed a budding partnership in the circle with Donnell Wallam, particularly in the First Nations Round triumphs over Giants Netball and the Melbourne Vixens.
“Emily has shown she is more than capable at SSN level and really seized the chance handed to her last season with both hands,” Bulley said.
“I’m delighted Emily will be with us again in 2024 and am looking forward to her continuing to show her leadership and skill in the purple dress.”
A two-time championship winner in the NSW Premier League, Moore has settled quickly into Brisbane life and is thrilled to be staying on in the River City.
“I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Firebirds family again and can't wait to see what this group will achieve in 2024,” Moore said.
