Shearer, a Queensland pathways product who became Firebird No.110 after debuting against the Melbourne Vixens in Round 4, 2024, has been an ever-present for the club in her second season.
Featuring in all 14 matches in the 2025 campaign, Shearer ended the season with 12 intercepts, 40 deflections and 13 rebounds as her star continues to rise.
“I am super excited to back in purple for 2026,” Shearer said.
"I can’t wait to see what greatness we can achieve next season.
"2025 was a great year of growth for me and I can’t wait to keep extending the impact I can have for this team.”
Standing at 190cm, Shearer represented Queensland at 19U level and with the Queensland Sapphires before joining the Firebirds as a training partner ahead of the 2023 season.
“Despite her inexperience, Isabelle has handled the pressure of being a starting player within our squad well,” Head Coach Kiri Wills said.
“I’m delighted she has re-signed and eager to witness first hand her career continuing to grow and develop in 2026.
“Isabelle is a highly popular member of the team both within the squad and with our fans so I know that news of her re-signing will be welcomed by all of our Purple Family.”
The Queensland Firebirds will share with members and fans announcements on other off-contract athletes as well as new signings in coming days.
