Two-time Premiership winning midcourter Kim Ravaillion will return home to the Queensland Firebirds for the 2021 Suncorp Super Netball season.
The move will see Ravaillion return to the court for the first time since becoming a mother to daughter Georgie earlier this year.
Ravaillion said she was looking forward to wearing the Purple dress again.
“It’s exciting to continue to chase my dreams as a professional netballer and I can’t wait to give back to the Club that gave me so much,” Ravaillion said.
“There’s some familiar faces in the team I’m looking forward to reuniting with, but also some of the most exciting new talent in the competition that I’ll get the chance to play with for the first time.”
“Most of all I’m looking forward to once again playing in front of the Purple Family who I share so many fond memories with, and who are without doubt the most passionate group of supporters in the League.”
Ravaillion established herself as one of the game’s premier midcourters during her first stint with the Firebirds from 2013-16, playing a central role in consecutive ANZ Championship titles in 2015 and 2016, as well as winning gold medals with the Australian Diamonds at both the 2014 Commonwealth Games and 2015 Netball World Cup.
Queensland Firebirds’ High Performance Director, Jeremy Hickmans, believes Ravaillion’s experience will be a significant asset to the Club.
“Kim has proven herself as a match winner on some of the biggest stages in our game and she knows exactly what it takes to achieve success,” Hickmans said.
“Her experience will be invaluable and the obvious passion she still has to test herself at the highest level will complement our current dynamic, both in the midcourt as well as the broader team.”
“I know our supporters will be very excited to see Kim back in a purple dress and we are certainly looking forward to welcoming herself, Georgie and Adam back with open arms.”
