The teenage talent, who was named tournament MVP for the 17 and Under division at this year's National Netball Championship in Melbourne, has been included in the Futures squad after Queensland Firebirds training partner Lillyana Rennie was ruled out due to injury.
It means Stanford is poised to make her SN Reserves debut in Sydney, where the Futures are set to play three matches across the weekend against Tasmania, the Northern Territory and Capital Darters having finished eighth on the ladder during the regular season.
It continues a big past few months for Stanford, who plays for the ICare Group Australia Ipswich Jets in the HART Premier Netball League Sapphire division, who was also named in the 2026 National 17/U Squad following her impressive showing for Queensland at the NNC.
Stanford is one of two uncapped defenders heading to Sydney this weekend in the Futures squad along with Kedron-Wavell Cougars representative Charlotte Jonsen while there's also a chance to gain more court time for emerging talents Marley Burns and Simone Botha who both made their Futures debuts in the Round 7 game against the Sunshine Coast Lightning Bolts at Nissan Arena last weekend.
The Futures begin their SN Reserves Finals Weekend on Friday at 10am against the Darters before facing the Territory Storm on Saturday and Tasmania Wild on Sunday.
