The Rockhampton product secured her first SSN contract ahead of the 2024 season and after impressing at the pre-season Team Girls Cup, became Firebird No.110 after debuting in the Round 4 match against the Melbourne Vixens.
Shearer would go on to appear in seven games across the season, including making her first start and playing the full game in the upset win over the West Coast Fever at Nissan Arena in Round 11.
The 21-year-old recorded three gains, four deflections and three rebounds in the eight-goal triumph despite being matched up with Fever and Jamaica legend Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard.
“I’m so excited to be back in the purple dress for 2025,” Shearer said.
“Grateful for the opportunities I’ve had so far and really looking forward to what lies ahead and hitting the court hard in season ‘25.”
Standing at 190cm, Shearer has impressive height and is a Queensland pathways product, representing Queensland at 19U level and with the Queensland Sapphires before joining the Firebirds as a training partner ahead of the 2023 season.
“Isabelle showed great promise in her first year of SSN,” Firebirds Head Coach Kiri Wills said.
“2025 will be an important step in her development and we are looking forward to seeing her develop into a player who can have a great impact for the Firebirds.”
The Queensland Firebirds will share with members and fans announcements on new signings after August 5 when Netball Australia’s external contracting window opens, and any binding contract discussions with players outside the club can commence.
