Te Paea Selby-Rickit

Experienced New Zealand shooter Te Paea Selby-Rickit returns for a second season in Purple after an impressive debut campaign with the Queensland Firebirds in 2026.

Firebird No.121 was an ever-present figure in the shooting circle, featuring in every match and contributing 185 goals and 28 Super Shots. Her consistency, composure and creative playmaking provided a valuable focal point in the Firebirds’ attacking end.

Selby-Rickit’s high-quality performances earned her 32 votes in the Laura Geitz Medal count, finishing a highly creditable third behind fellow New Zealand internationals Kelly Jackson and Maddy Gordon.

Her strong domestic form also secured a recall to the Silver Ferns squad, adding another chapter to an international career that began in 2016 and has included more than 60 Test caps.

A two-time Commonwealth Games representative and member of New Zealand’s 2019 World Cup-winning squad, Selby-Rickit brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Purple Family.
