AFTER six seasons of proudly wearing the purple dress, Townsville product Kimberley Jenner has chosen not to accept the offer of a new contract with the Queensland Firebirds.
The talented 24-year-old was approached by the Firebirds with a fresh deal but has opted to accept an opportunity elsewhere within the Suncorp Super Netball system.
“I’ve been with the Birdies for six years of my life now and it’s really sad to be leaving all the people I love there,” Jenner said.
“They’ve given me so many opportunities as a player and person, but I’m really excited for the next opportunity I do have and where that takes me.”
KJ made her debut for the Firebirds in 2017, and impressed immediately, before going on to secure a spot on the Australian Diamonds squad.
The Queensland Firebirds family will greatly miss this exciting defender, wish her all the very best in her new adventures and look forward to wonderful on-court battles in 2023.
