Tickets are now on sale for the event, which is a chance for Queensland Firebirds stars of the past to reconnect with each other and the game, as well as celebrate their contribution to the club since its formation in 1997.
Held at Victoria Park, the breakfast event will include a superstar panel featuring former Queensland and Australian representatives Vicki Wilson OAM and Liz White OAM as well as Firebirds' great Karen Clarke.
Long-time netball supporter and Queensland Rugby League CEO Ben Ikin will also be part of the panellists in attendance.
As part of Netball Queensland’s Strategic Plan 2023-25, the organisation has made a commitment to reconnecting with former Firebirds, cultivating a past player network and preserving the game’s history.
“I always love any opportunity to catch up with former teammates and take a trip down memory lane,” former Firebird Katie Walker said.
“This new initiative will allow us to connect with others who also proudly wore the dress and celebrate the achievements of one another across the decades.
“It is wonderful that so much time and importance is being placed on honouring the past and respecting the history of the club so that these stories, memories and special people can provide an inspiring foundation to continue the growth and success of the club in the future.”
The inaugural Fifth Quarter event will be held on Friday, 3 November at Victoria Park from 7-9am.
